Migraine

Migraine is a common and often disabling neurologic disorder characterized by recurrent headaches accompanied by photophobia, phonophobia, nausea, and, in some cases, aura. Advances in migraine treatment have shifted care toward mechanism-based therapies targeting
calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP):

  • CGRP monoclonal antibodies for prevention (erenumab, fremanezumab,
    galcanezumab, eptinezumab)
  • Gepants for acute and preventive treatment
  • Ditans for acute migraine management

These therapies have significantly improved outcomes for patients with refractory or chronic migraine.
