Home / Relapsing Polychondritis
Relapsing polychondritis is a rare autoimmune disease characterized by recurrent inflammation and progressive destruction of cartilaginous structures, most commonly affecting the ears, nose, tracheobronchial tree, and joints. Airway involvement can be life-threatening and requires prompt diagnosis and intervention.
Treatment strategies depend on disease severity and organ involvement. Mild disease may be managed with NSAIDs and corticosteroids, while moderate to severe disease often requires immunosuppressive agents or biologic therapies, including TNF inhibitors, IL-6 inhibitors, or other targeted immune modulators.
